Abstract

This study aims to identify the tahfidz learning methods applied, the Qur'an memorization abilities of students, the influence of tahfidz learning methods on students’ Qur'an memorization abilities, and the factors affecting the success of memorization at SMP IT Al-Husniyah. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings revealed that the tahfidz learning methods implemented include the introduction of Arabic letters (hijaiyah), tajwid instruction, the talaqqi method, and muraja'ah. The students' Qur'an memorization abilities were categorized as good, as indicated by fluency in memorization, accuracy in applying tajwid rules, and the ability to maintain memorized verses through regular muraja'ah. The tahfidz learning methods were found to have a positive influence on students' Qur'an memorization abilities by improving recitation quality, strengthening memorization, and facilitating the achievement of memorization targets. The success of Qur'an memorization is influenced by several factors, including strong motivation and sincere intention, mastery of tajwid, discipline in performing muraja'ah, parental support, a conducive learning environment, and the role of teachers in guiding and motivating students. Therefore, the appropriate implementation of tahfidz learning methods can enhance students' ability to memorize, preserve, and practice the teachings of the Qur'an in their daily lives.
