Peer Reviewer Process
All manuscripts submitted to AL-AFKAR: Journal of Islamic Education Management undergo a peer-review process to ensure academic quality, originality, relevance, and scholarly contribution.
The journal applies a Double-Blind Peer Review system, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review process. This approach is intended to ensure an objective, fair, and unbiased evaluation.
The review process consists of the following stages:
1. Initial Editorial Screening
Submitted manuscripts are screened by the editorial team to assess their suitability with the journal's focus and scope, formatting requirements, completeness of submission, and compliance with publication ethics.
2. Plagiarism Screening
All manuscripts are checked using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts suspected of plagiarism or duplicate publication may be rejected before entering the peer-review stage.
3. Reviewer Assignment
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript's subject area.
4. Peer Review Evaluation
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on several criteria, including:
- Originality and novelty of the research
- Academic significance and contribution
- Clarity of research objectives
- Appropriateness of research methodology
- Quality of analysis and discussion
- Validity of conclusions
- Quality of references and citations
- Overall quality of writing and presentation
5. Editorial Decision
Based on reviewers' recommendations, the editor may make one of the following decisions:
- Accept Submission
- Minor Revisions Required
- Major Revisions Required
- Decline Submission
6. Author Revision
If revisions are required, authors must revise their manuscripts in accordance with the reviewers' and editors' comments within the specified timeframe.
7. Final Decision
The editor conducts a final evaluation of the revised manuscript before making the final publication decision.
The average review process takes approximately 4–8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the quality of the submitted manuscript.
