Publication Ethics
AL-AFKAR: Journal of Islamic Education Management is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics throughout the publication process. This publication ethics statement is based on the principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and serves as a guideline for editors, reviewers, authors, and all parties involved in the publication process.
Duties and Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for:
- Deciding which manuscripts are suitable for publication based on academic quality, originality, relevance, and scholarly contribution.
- Evaluating manuscripts objectively without regard to race, gender, religion, nationality, or political beliefs of the authors.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts.
- Not using unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript for personal research without the author's written consent.
- Taking appropriate action in cases of suspected publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, and citation manipulation.
Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers are responsible for:
- Providing objective, constructive, and timely reviews.
- Assisting editors in making editorial decisions.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of manuscripts under review.
- Identifying relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors.
- Informing editors of any suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, or other ethical concerns.
- Declining to review manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.
Duties and Responsibilities of Authors
Authors are responsible for:
- Presenting research findings honestly, accurately, and objectively.
- Ensuring that submitted manuscripts are original and have not been published or submitted elsewhere.
- Providing proper acknowledgment and citation of the work of others.
- Avoiding plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, and duplicate publication.
- Including as authors only those who have made significant contributions to the research.
- Disclosing sources of research funding and any potential conflicts of interest.
- Promptly notifying the editor if a significant error is discovered in a submitted or published article.
Plagiarism Policy
AL-AFKAR has zero tolerance for plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts will be screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the review process. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism will be rejected or retracted if already published.
Conflict of Interest
Editors, reviewers, and authors must disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence the objectivity of the publication process.
Corrections and Retractions
If significant errors, ethical violations, or inaccuracies are identified after publication, the journal reserves the right to issue corrections, clarifications, or retract articles in accordance with accepted publication ethics guidelines.
