Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of performance appraisal on the promotion of positions at the Regional Development Planning Agency Indragiri Hilir regency. Variables in this research consist of independent variables and dependent variables. The independent variable is the performance appraisal and than dependent variable is promotion of office. The result of research about influence of job performance appraisal to promotion of position at Regional Development Planning Board of Indragiri Hilir regency obtained by simple linear rergresi equation is Y = 16,089 + 0,487X. It is stated that the performance appraisal has a positive effect on promotion in the development planning of Indragiri Hilir regency. Based on the result of coefficient of determination obtained value of adjuster (R2) equal to 0,780 or 78%. This means that the change in promotion is influenced by the employee performance appraisal and the remaining 22% is influenced by factors other than the author carefully.
