Abstract

Spatial Economy is the interaction of economic activities in a region that has different dynamics from other regions The interaction between these regions is a phenomenon that reflects the activities carried out by human resources in an area. This phenomenon can be seen from the aspect of GRDP, population, and the distance between the province of origin and the province of destination. This type of research approach is a descriptive and quantitative research approach. The data used in this study is panel data for the provinces in the Sumatra region in 2011-2020. The type of data used in this study is secondary data collected indirectly from several institutions or related agencies that publish data to data users. The research scope is a province in Sumatera with a study of factors including GRDP per capita per province, population, and the distance between Jambi province and other provinces in Sumatra. The model used in this study is the gravity model and is estimated by the multiple linear regression method. Based on the results of the analysis that the spatial interaction of the economy between Jambi province and other provinces in Sumatera in the period 2011-2020 on economic growth, population, and distance are positively and significantly related to GRDP probability of 0.0555 < 0.1, population probability 0.0670 < 0.1, the probability of the distance between Jambi and other provinces in Sumatra is 0.0007 < 0.1.
