Improvement Of English Vocabulary Using The “Spelling Bee” Game Method In Islamic Junior High Public School Number 7, Padang City

Abstract

This activity was proposed based on consideration that most of young learners tend to use learning activity with action and different movement. Another problem was students usually get bored easily with learning activities after 10 minutes and cause short attention spans and a lack of memory. Based on the problems above, the lecturers’ team wanted to motivate students to learn English with an interesting method, that is Spelling Bee. This activity was carried out as a feedback from the needs survey that had been carried out by the lecturers’ team to students of  MTSN 7 Padang. It is hoped that students will be able to find out their talents and interest in learning English which can be applied in daily activities.
