Abstract

The application of guava (Psidium guajava) leaf extract was studied on Pangas Catfish (Pangasius pangasius) seeds to increase the survival rate in closed transportation systems. The extract was added to a transportation medium with concentration 30 g; 50 g and 80 g. Water quality parameters are evaluated before and after the transportation process. The addition of Guava leaf extract reduced metabolites excretion and significantly affect to survival seed of Pangas Catfish. The application of Guava leaf extract proved to increase the survival of Pangas Catfish seeds compared to controls. The best concentration of extract for Pangas Catfish seeds transportation was 30 g/medium. This concentration reduced fish metabolite excretion and maintained conditions of transport media better compared with control and other treatments with a value of SR 98%.
